Intensive Program Lead & Counselor
Amy is a Licensed Associate counselor who holds a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. With training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Emotion Focused Individual Therapy for Trauma (EFIT), Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO), and Somatic Experiencing, Amy is well-equipped to address a variety of needs. Amy is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
Amy utilizes an attachment framework and a trauma-informed lens with all of her clients. She has experience working with teenagers and adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including (but not limited to): anxiety, grief, depression, relational difficulties, trauma, and abuse and neglect. Amy is passionate about people building safe and healthy relationships with their bodies, and enjoys working with clients who would like to explore difficulties related to body image, self-esteem, and disordered eating. In addition to her work with individuals, Amy also works with couples on a wide variety of relationship difficulties and enjoys fostering safe spaces for relationships to heal.
Amy believes strongly in the effectiveness of working within an intensive counseling model, and currently serves as Gap Relief’s Intensive Lead. Intensive counseling services often allow for accelerated growth as clients work with a therapist or group of practitioners over a multi-day to multi-week period.
